This is a collection, released in 1988, of previously unreleased Syd Barrett recordings and outtakes from 1968 to 1970. Most of it is just Syd and his guitar, roughly recorded in folksy style. There is also a real treat of an electric guitar freakout, Lanky (Part 1). This is an incredibly enjoyable listen, just as good as if not better than his two solo albums. Listening to these songs I finally understand somewhat why he decided to shift away from music and towards painting, for there is a real feeling t these songs that remnd me of e creating and creations of painted works of art. These songs are raw and unique, and I could ask of nothing better from a collection of previously unreleased Syd Barrett recordings. A real treat and a must for any fan to listen to.
