If i Hade A Horse..... (CD)
The Ribeye Brothers' shadowy country punk is run through a filter of '60s psychedelia, so every twang and holler sounds like it's being delivered through a haze of pills 'n' booze. If I Had A Horse comes off like a collaboration between psychobilly masters The Cramps and British garage-psych band The Creation; the disc boasts a simple sound that saunters lazily down its dusty trails. The Brothers are Monster Magnet offshoot--drummer Jon Kleiman and ex-vocalist Tim Cronin--and the record has a lot in common with Magnet guitarist John McBain's tribe to '60s garage, Wellwater Conspiracy. Between the two offshoots, though, my money's on these cowboys.
