Satchitananda, a short-lived Prog/Jazz/Fusion band, stood out in the genre with a unique lineup that featured electric pianos, synths, drums, flutes, and sax, but no bassist or guitarist. Their singular 1980 album, "A Thought Away," blends intricate melodies and ethereal jazz tunes, reminiscent of acts like Iliad, Flight and a cosmic version of Yes, all underscored by the versatile use of keyboards replacing traditional bass rhythms, and punctuated with moments of sax and flute solos.
