Apart from some excellent progressive rock bands, I'm not an authority on the Polish hard rock scene. Out of the blue I got this new album from Kruk, which seems to be a Polish classic hard rock band in the vein of Deep Purple. "It Will Not Come Back" is their second effort and I have to admit that it is a pleasure listening to it. The songs are well written, performed and produced and there's also a great mix of rockers and ballads. Special guest on the track "In Reverie" is none other than Doogie White, known from a.o. Cornerstone, Yngwie Malmsteen and Rainbow. Together with this CD comes a bonus DVD of 100 minutes, featuring 10 live tracks (including two Kruk versions of Deep Purple songs, viz. "Knockin At Your Back Door" and "Child In Time") and a short documentary. Like I said, it's my first acquaintance with the band, but I'll try to follow them more closely in the future.
