Hypnotic, mystical, hippie psychedelia and acid-folk, dominated by long and largely instrumental sections, all based on a complex interplay of recorder, hand drums and acoustic guitar. In 1972 Vancouver-based Ptarmigan recorded the basic tracks for what would become their only album. Finally, in 1974, Columbia Records released the album to critical acclaim, but minimal sales. Ptarmigan's album is one of those hidden gems from the '70s that make life better when you discover them many years later. For those who know the LP it's an undisputed classic!
