Heavy shoegaze that absolutely rips. Astronoid sledgehammer the listener with their fuzzy wall of sound, only letting up a handful of times for fresh air. Brett Boland's vocals are the odd-man out here, his ethereal, high-pitched voice sounding as if it'd be more at home with some dream pop instead of this metal-leaning collection. But once you get used to his singing style, it clicks, and the disarming melodies float right in, counterbalancing the heavier tendencies.
