Bloodbath was tribute to the early '90s death metal with the quality of today's production. Therefore I was quite surprised when I discovered this album wasn't the same as their first release at all. The most noticeable changes in their music can somewhat be explained by the bands change in line-up. Mikael Åkerfelt has left the band and the vocals have been replaced by Hypocrisy's Peter Tägtgren , giving the vocals a more screaming voice than before. And since Dan Swanö now takes care of the second guitar, Martin "Axe" Axenrot has placed himself behind the drums. The last change mentioned gives Bloodbath a little more variation both on the drumming and the guitars. Seriously, I am just speculating here. If this really is the result of the change in line-up or because they have simply chosen to do it this way.
