Following this Swedish band's debut in "Storm Warning," Christian Lindersson, it was thought that Count Raven would not be able to carry on, or perhaps more specifically, have less of a chance to impact the metal world. Such a sentiment proved to be false, in fact, Lindersson's exodus from the band proved to be a dual blessing in disguise. Not only would Count Raven greatly benefit from the addition of Dan Fondelius' remarkably obvious Ozzy barks, but Saint Vitus would gain a plus with Lindersson's service on the respectable "Children of Doom" record between the exodus of Wino and the re-emerging of Reagers. On this side of the equation, "Destruction of the Void" would basically become exactly what diehard 1970-72 Sabbath fans wanted - a doom oriented Black Sabbath. Granted, Count Raven is not Black Sabbath, but were you to introduce this to a person with no knowledge of the concerned bands' history, they would probably think this album was released shortly after "Vol. 4."
