UNYA's music could be called indie electro hop, which has lots of influences ranging from hip hop to folk pop, just to name a few. Lyrics sung in Finnish gives a very unique sound for the band - fat trip hop beats with a touch of subtle melodies and ambient soundscapes. Comparisons have been drawn to the likes of James Blake and Bonobo and Finnish artists Yona and Karina. UNYA's debut album was released by Eclipse Music in June 2019. It was recorded in a wooden church in a small town in Southern Finland. At the moment the members of UNYA are based in Helsinki and Aarhus, Denmark.
