"The atmospheric Finnish landscape painting death metal à la Amorphis still complements the noble designer darkness of Katatonia wonderfully, and with the subtle modern metal and wave influence, the band could theoretically conquer hundreds of thousands of rock hearts, but compositionally, as on 'Until Fear No Longer Defines Us', they are unable to compete with any of their great role models. Some of the good ideas are only touched on superficially, many choruses lack the necessary magic to be able to compete at the very top. The fact that Ghost Brigade have immense creative potential are proven by glimmers of hope such as the harsh 'Wretched Blues' and 'Stones And Pillars' or the darkly proggy 'Aurora'."
