ECHO US has been created in the year 2001 by Ethan MATTHEWS, the former GREYHAVEN keyboards player. Forget the Progressive heavy-metal performed by the latter, our man today shows a strong musical personality, at the crossroads between Progressive rock and electronic musics. It took four years to achieve "The Tide Decides" (Musea Parallèle, 2009), but the result is more than satisfying. This dreamy and airy concept-album deals with one person's life linked with the life of Earth. The band states a "metaphysical approach to music with fantasy", with a rhythmic section and a handful of exotic instruments (Viola, harp...) for good measure. The vocals may sound close to FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, but the musical style is kind of electro loops mixed with contemplative synthesizers parts. The atmospheres, sounds and vocals with effects sometimes recall VANGELIS or Mike OLDFIELD's "The Songs Of Distant Earth", with a more dynamic approach on rhythms. Just beautiful ! The second album in a three-album suite, "Tomorrow Will Tell The Story" (2012), displays mystical atmospheres and omnijective, channeled messages. These take the listener far beyond the horizon to worlds unknown. This album combines emotional male and female vocals, ethereal acoustic harp and organic ambiences from an alien universe, chronicling a journey to higher consciousness, and a marriage of Science and Spirituality.
