SILENTCLOCK is a young French band from Bordeaux, led by guitar player Rémi GRANJEON. Surprisingly mature and well-produced, "Elephants And Porcelain" (Musea Parallèle, 2010) delivers twelve songs in a sophisticated pop-rock vein, near COLDPLAY, PINK FLOYD and sometimes RADIOHEAD for some vocals parts here and there. Refined guitars, airy keyboards, dynamic rhythms, high-pitched vocals, are the musical basis of a delicate music, underlying unquiet moments, and including a ten minute-piece the almighty PINK FLOYD could have performed. Revealing a strong melodic talent, polished arrangements and crafted-songwriting, this piece of work is an excellent surprise.
