ARPIA is the project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Leonardo BONETTI. Most of the time, the third album marks a critical point for a band, so that's why our man chose to originality card for "Racconto D'Inverno", published by the Musea label in the year 2009. This ambitious concept-album adapts and recreates a novel written by the same Leonardo BONETTI. Willing to avoid the solitary musician cliché, our fellow Italian invited a female singer, an (acoustic) guitar player and a drummer. Here's an unusual line-up too, for a music free of electric chords, becoming more and more symphonic with the use of keyboards in the second half of the album. ARPIA's music is difficult to compare with any other. Unquiet harmonies and atmospheres may recall KING CRIMSON, the acoustic works of Peter HAMMILL, or even BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO and the Italian School of Progressive rock, with Italian lyrics and singing.
