The Way Of Pain (CD)
Mixing a bit of the Germans with the Swedes with the Brits are the Finnish-ish Dyecrest, with their debut on Noise records, The Way of Pain. And a solid debut this is, recorded in Hamburg by Piet Sielck, known for his work with Blind Guardian, Iron Savior and Paragon. The top-notch production speaks in values, alongside a roster of ten strong, aggressive songs. Each song individually waves the banner for power metal whilst straying and mingling with the Gothenburg and NWOBHM crowds. The result is a new band in a modern realm, never sounding jaded or retro when tipping the hat to the oldies, and always rocking hard to the newer generation of metalheads.
