Mario Telles (CD)
Yet another in our great series of the best Brasilian sounds, here's a real treat from the early 1960s - we have the sole self-titled album from legendary lyricist Mario Telles.
Mario released only this single LP in his entire career , now a very rare album with arrangements and orchestration by Moacir Santos, Astor Silva and the amazing Baden Powell (guitar and also arrangements). This LP also contains the very first recordings of Nana, Berimbau and many songs, which became standards of the rising Bossa Nova style. Brother of Sylvia Telles, the diva of the early Bossa Nova scene, who died tragically young, Mario remains a major cultural mover and shaker in Brasil to this day.
Sought after by all fans of Brasilian music, this is the first ever release of this material in Europe, and of its course beautifully re-mastered in true Rev-Ola style, with gorgeous packaging as usual and it is a must for all fans of the wonderful Bossa Nova music of Brasil!
