Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson get a little post-rock on this particular release from their No-Man project, opening with a four-song suite which recalls the quasi-ambient origins of post-rock in Talk Talk's last two brilliant albums. The usual formula of Steven Wilson's musical backing and Tim Bowness' honeyed vocals comes up trumps this time around and proves itself to be particularly suited to this style of music, showing that No-Man could have been the new Talk Talk had they wanted to persist with this particular musical direction, though as the last three songs with their acoustic guitar and clarinet-based music show they're not entirely committed to simply reiterating the innovations of old legends.
