With "Blackfield V" Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen alias Blackfield 2017 present their fifth studio album. For this, the British producer, musician and singer and his Israeli colleague worked together over a period of about 18 months, sending demos back and forth and finally selecting the favourites for the new album. The result is a total of 13 new songs that form a coherent whole. The band itself therefore already described "Blackfield V" as a loose concept album, thematically revolving around the ocean and the cycle of life. The recordings for "Blackfield V" took place both in England and Israel. Wilson and Geffen received musical support from drummer Tomer Z and keyboardist Eran Mitelman. As a special guest singer and producer, none other than Alan Parsons also worked on the record.
