It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...SUPERSHOOTERS!!! It's...A band from Athens, which gives us a very dynamic debut that contains elements of Sabbath guitars and rhythm, stoner attitude and punk character! The debut of the quartet is titled "Black Realm" and is indeed a powerful album that surprises you with its "catchy" tunes and the weight of the guitars without missing the core stoner rock gut that i'm sure SUPERSHOOTERS wanted to provide through their creations! Altough this is stoner job, these guys didn't keep out other influences that may have as muscians. Starting with the first track titled "Loaded Gun" it's quite possible not to understand the stoner rock intentions directly, since the style is punk without fear, but with a lot of passion! Also the guitars are pretty..."progressive", not in the sense of the sound, but in the sense that the band is not afraid to provide pure rock solos and give enough weight in their songs, with excellent results as "Lowride". Also "crazy" and indicator of what is mentioned above is that you'll find a sense that "we play as we like, with passion" in all the songs of the album. This simply means that there are no monotonous and psychedelic situations, just to get the job done. This is why songs like "Butterfly" or "Lawful Rebel" are songs to that will get you interested and make finally other bands and listeners of stoner rock/metal sound to get off the rails of the standard patern of playing and creating songs! Overall, the creation called "Black Realm", is indeed capable to travel you to dark and black realms and though is not the release of the month that will drive you crazy, it's certainly a very good start for the band!!!
