"Charlie Griffiths, guitarist of the British progressive metal band HAKEN, proudly presents his first solo album "Tiktaalika". His musical roots are still in the progressive realm, but Charlie draws from his love of old school thrash of the 80s, tech metal of the 90s and alternative rock "Tiktaalika" spans the spectrum from melodic to avant-garde to heavy - you could say Tiktaalika bridges the gap between King Crimson and King Diamond! This concept album was worked on for 375 million years. The 9 tracks are inspired by themes of geological time, fossilization, transformation, and humanity's connections to each other and the planet we inhabit. The Griffiths-penned lyrics are performed by some of the best vocalists in the business: Tommy Rogers (Between the Buried And Me), Danïel De Jongh (Textures), Vladimir Laliu0107 (Organised Chaos) and Neil Purdy (Luna's Call). The album also features a number of guest musicians: Drummer Darby Todd (Martin Barre, Frost, Devin Townsend), keyboard wizard Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater) and saxophonist Rob Townsend (Steve Hackett).
