Generally speaking, I think ambience from the 80's old hands is much more listenable and enjoyable than modern ambience. This effort from Continuum, Steven Wilson's least known collaboration is more like a set of three drone passages than ambience. And, unfortunately it's all a little bit too monotonous for my liking. It's effective in summoning up imagery of wind and rain but in terms of enjoyment, it fails to capture the attention for too long, a little like some of Bass Communion's work.
