Punchy, aggressive, atmospheric death/doom metal with some gothic flourishes a la Widow's Weeds-era Tristania. The atmosphere is very epic and triumphant. Deep growls and operatic female singing alternate over majestic death/doom riffs, alongside flutes, harpsichords, and dreamy synth pads. The band ended up doing a cover of and early Amorphis track on the split which follows this album, and I can definitely see the influence of Tales From the Thousand Lakes in the guitar progressions and male vocals.
