With his bands Helloween and Gamma Ray, Kai Hansen already pioneered heavy metal in Germany 30 years ago. Since then he has helped to shape the genre, releasing more than 20 band albums. The only thing the guitarist and singer was missing was a solo album. 2016 is the year: Kai Hansen presents "XXX - Three Decades In Metal". The title already reveals it: The record is a musical journey through time through the last 30 years of metal and hard rock. But Hansen doesn't travel alone. First he gathered a real supergroup around him for the album with Alex Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn) on bass, producer Eike Freese on guitar and drummer Daniel Wilding (Carcass). And also the guest list on "XXX - Three Decades In Metal" is long: Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Marcus Bischoff (Heaven Shall Burn), Michael Amott (Arch Enemy) and Sami Yli-Sirniö (Kreator) are just a few of them. Together Hansen and friends recorded a total of twelve songs for the album. A first foretaste was already given at the beginning of August with the single release "Born Free".
