The early Saints had that combination of accessible melody and kick ass riffage that only the most blessed of bands managed (re: Buzzcocks, Undertones, early Clash and more latterly Nirvana and Elastica). It's far more obvious on this album than the debut as things have toned down a bit with the addition of horns and more acoustic guitar.
Also, Chris Bailey proves he has one of the great voices to come out of punk as he sneers away like a cross between Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop about the ills of life as he perceives them. Kuepper's guitar histrionics aren't as prevalent (he only really lets loose on 'No, Your Product') but the buzzsaw is still in place and as good as ever.
