Ram Jam (CD)
"Ram Jam" is the first studio album by the New York rock band Ram Jam. The band consisted of Bill Bartlett (guitar), Howie Arthur Blauvelt (bass), Pete Charles (drums) and Myke Scavone (lead vocals). Bartlett was formerly the lead guitarist for the psychedelic bubblegum group Lemon Pipers, best known for their 1960s hit "The Green Tambourine", while Blauvelt played with Billy Joel in various bands
"Black Betty," the over-modulated smash from Ram Jam, was written by none other than Huddie Ledbetter, of Leadbelly fame. It's a nice fun fact about popular music in 1977 that the most engaging and silly record of the summer was written by a deceased black blues genius.
