Somethin' Else Again (CD)
Richie Havens is at a creative zenith during the mid to late 60's. his music was very relevant and he brought us back to a simple time in music when all there was was blues and folk-style music. Richie is a throw-back from an era so many musicians wish they could at least visit to be able to get the feel for what that early tourng-musician life was actually like. It's in our imaginations forever, and Richie, with this album seems to bridge a big gap between the Acid-soaked psychedelic rebelious 60's and the hard-livin' boozin' it up days of the for farthers of rock n' roll in the late 20's and early 30's.....the muddy's and the Lightnin's and Leadbelly's all gettin' it on with no more than maybe fifty people a night, making maybe enough to take home the most expensive hooker and score as many bundles of cocaine as the local pimp. This is essentially though a mildly psychedelic folk album.
