"Dreaming," the first Michael Rother studio album since 2004's "Remember (The Great Adventure)," is a minor sensation, especially since he's only recorded soundtracks and remixes since then. But the lockdown in the spring of 2020 changed his plans.
There were a number of unfinished tracks to develop from the "Remember" sessions, to which Rother's friend Thomas Beckmann had originally contributed some co-mixes and electronic beats: "I had a goldmine of ideas, about 75 sketches, and I knew there were some gems in there." All the more surprising, then, that "Dreaming" now sounds quite different from its predecessor.
