Free-spirited, six-piece freak rock beast King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard returns with their seventeenth album, "L.W.". "L.W." is both a companion piece to its 2020 predecessor "K.G." and a standalone work from the Melbourne innovators.
After a full decade of increasing productivity, the inability to tour in 2020 and 2021 has given the band a window of opportunity to, as frontman Stu Mackenzie puts it, "reset our brains and try to figure out how to do something different." Where in the past King Gizzard might have recorded fourteen or fifteen songs to make it onto a ten-track album, thanks to the extra time they had, they instead recorded nineteen full tracks in a row.
