THE ROCKFORD MULES fired up their tubes together for the first time in a Minneapolis basement during the winter of 2005. Friends from former groups that span the spectrum from folk/acoustic to hardcore, this combination of souls resulted in a sound they have come to call "heavy mountain." Stampeding lap steel guitar, a bone carving rhythm section, and soulful lyrics, The Rockford Mules sound simultaneously familiar and foreign. The songs draw on the earthy elements of southern rock and Americana, yet are infused with a sonic sneer that occasionally wanders dangerously close to hardcore. THE ROCKFOUR MULES released their debut full length, "From Devil's Spit to Angel Tears," in the Summer of 2008. Expect to hear more from these fellas in the near future.
