Julie Tippetts first became known, still using her birth name Julie Driscoll, when she and Brian Auger had hits in the '60s with Bob Dylan's 'Wheels on Fire'.. Fire' and Donovan's 'Season of the Witch' From the early 1970s Julie focused on experimental vocal music and married jazz pianist Keith Tippetts 'Shadow Puppeteer', originally released in 1999, was conceived as a song cycle conceived. This resulted in a concept album with a narrator involved in the improvisations and compositions Julie sings beautifully on this, while her passionate and groundbreaking vocal techniques are all based on improvisation.
