For a period from the mid eighties through to the mid nineties and beyond Gary Duncan led his own band Quicksilver and released a number of albums. These albums are now being made available again once more at the behest of Gary Duncan having been unavailable for some time. Shape Shifter volumes 1&2 was the first album to bear the Quicksilver name for ten years when it was originally released in 1996. The album whilst being a new Quicksilver album and an album that was in keeping with the time in which it was written and recorded also bears the hallmark that is unmistakably Quicksilver. Shapeshifter Volumes 1&2 was originally available as a double album but more recently has been available as two single albums. This new reissue brings the two volumes together once more as they were on the original release. On this album Gary Duncan is joined by amongst others fellow Quicksilver Messenger Service member David Freiberg and former Sly and the Family Stone drummer Greg Errico. Elsewhere there are appearances from Santana's Raul Rekow and War's Lee Oskar.
