Despite their musical presence before and after the 80s, Styx typified 1980s arena rock and Caught in the Act is a prime example of why. The live performance features rocking guitars, heavy beats and tons of energy and showmanship. What Styx had over other bands of the era was Dennis DeYoung's amazing voice. He flaunts it repeatedly, but since not many rock stars sing with that level of control, I can't blame him. The production is excellent for a concert and Caught in the Act works well as a Styx greatest hits album for the casual fan.
