I had just gotten off the road and went straight to the studio out in the desert in Rancho de La Luna. I was living in the house right behind it at the time, which made the sessions very convenient. I was supposed to record with my band The Bros in a couple of weeks, but I decided to go to the Rancho earlier and get some sounds. Tony and I then recorded a bunch of songs I had written on the fly. A week later, The Bros showed up and we recorded another set of songs with the band playing live in the front room. After we were done, I put my solo session and the Bros session together and released it as one record called "Saved By Magic" on my label Duna Records. That was in 2005. in 2023, I'm re-releasing this record on HPS and I decided to separate the two sessions into their original parts. My solo session and the bros session. I did this mainly because I think the Bros deserved something of their own, since they were a magical band. Also, I just thought it was cool. I call both records Saved By Magic Again.
