Messiah was established already in 1984 and released in the following years their legendary first two albums Hymn To Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather by themselves. The original trio line up Tschosi (voc),Brogi (gt) uand Jazzy (dr) split end of the Eighties. The two albums being rereleased by Massacre-Rec. re-in 2002 still are respected as highly innovative albums inspiring a lot of metal bands and giving ground to the cult status that the Swiss MESSIAH have until today. In 1990 bandleader R.B. Broggi reformed MESSIAH as the only original member . With the demo production Psychomorphia the band signed with Noise Records. Following the EP Psychomorphia in 1991 the new album Choir Of Horrors followed. MESSIAH had a new identity but still delivering their unmistakable musical style although the Noise-albums were straight death metal based. In 1992 the conceptual album Rotten Perish was released marking the highlight of the bands career. The album reached the best sales figures of all MESSIAH albums worldwide and entered the Swiss charts on # 7 being the only metal album amongst all other commercial releases! After the departure of Andy Kaina 1994 they needed a new front man. With the help of Christofer Johnsson from Therion the last MESSIAH album Underground was done in 1995 . MESSIAH split in the same year as the bands identity got lost in the opinion of original member R.B. Brogi Broggi after Underground In 2003 MESSIAH did two final shows in the great original line-up Kaina/Br??Karrer/Hersche (1990-1994) in Switzerland and on the With Full Force-festival, as a present to their loyal fan base . The shows, known as Reanimation 2003 were filmed and released by Massacre- Records on the DVD 20 Years Of Infernal Thrashing Madness . 7 years after Reanimation 2003 now together with the highly requested re-releases of the Noise albums now the complete legendary last show is being release Live at Abart a testimony of 90s metal of an unforgotten cult act (who are rare the metal scene) and live band on a 2-CD set! MESSIAH never were forgotten and it proves that the innovative metal MESSIAH did play was made for eternity.
