Legendary stuff going on here. Brian Eno, John Cale, Nico... three great art rockers of the seventies together in the same venue. Two great Eno tunes sound heavier and more abrasive live, then Cale comes on with his sort of gloomy take on Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel". What stands out the most by far here is Nico's rendition of "The End", that Doors staple which is turned into a long, hypnotic carnival drone that really shows off her vocal chops. It works for pretty much the same reason VU's "Heroin" does. Speaking of which, her work with them is no indication at all of her singing skill.
