Sweet was one of the very best bands from the Glam Rock era and this is probably their best album. Songs like 'Teenage Rampage', 'Ballroom Blitz' and Peppermint Twist' are etched in my memory. The latter features here as one of the poppier offerings. But Sweet Fanny Adams sees the band transitioning from its Pop roots to a proper Hard Rock outfit that retained pop sensibility. The pop aspect is displayed through perfect harmonies as each member demonstrates more than adequate capability in this important department. Yet, it's a couple of the heavier songs that highlight this album - the swirling 'Set Me Free' and hard rocking 'Sweet F.A." - and show that Andy Scott was a guitarist with serious chops.
