As a die-hard Rush fan, and a fan of prog rock in general, I am used to seeing long-term career prog rockers go through different music phases. These groups have their "good" and "bad" albums over the course of time, and Saga is no different. Many critics and die-hards say Steel Umbrellas is their worst album of all time, but I'm just not seeing why people think this way. If I dare offer a comparison, I'd say Saga's "SM" is equivalent to Rush's 1989 "Presto". Many fans didn't like that phase of their career, but frankly I enjoyed it along with everything else they made! I guess when you have been around so long, it's easy to stratify their music over the decades.
