Illegal (CD)
Illegal continues the move away from symphonic progressive rock that began on the previous Merry-Go-Round. Yet whereas Merry-Go-Round featured a simplified take on the band's trademark sound, Illegal is simply all over the place stylistically. There are still a few straightforward symph prog tracks here ("Mary Green", "Simple Dimple") that should keep the record from being a complete waste of time for diehard progheads, with "Mary Green" in particular standing out as the band's best track released post-Solar Music Live.
