STORMWITCH are definitely one of the best, most important and most unique sounding German Heavy-Metal band of all times. The story of the Witch dates back to the year 1979 when the band was founded under the name "Lemon Sylvan". After several line up changes, the band decided to change their name into STORMWITCH and in 1983 they recorded their first 4-Track Demo Tape, containing "Cave of Steenfoll", "Priest of Evil", "Walpurgis night" and "Flour in the wind". These four killer tracks immediately brought them a 5 album deal with GAMA records and shortly after that they entered the Spygel studios, to record their legendary debut album "Walpurgis night". In contrast to the declining NWoBHM, the band played their own teutonic style of Heavy-Metal in a fresh, unique and vital way. The whole album was recorded in only 8 days live in the recording room and the recordings were exactly finished at WALPURGIS NIGHT and the album has been released shortly after that in 1984.
