"The Grodeck Whipperjenny" is the result of the musical relationship between James Brown and the then young arranger David Matthews. It's a psychedelic album created by his former bandleader David Matthews and released simultaneously with Brown's classic "Sho ist Funky Down Here". It was the first album on James Brown's people label. Both albums were mastered directly from the original master tapes of Capitol Studios
This is the first official new edition and includes an extensive booklet with full annotations, liner notes by Brown historian Alan Leeds and never before published photos.
