The Last Men On Earth = LP = (LP)
Five Horse Johnson ride high on the ZZ Top inspired The Last Men on Earth album. Southern-fried blooze rock rules the ten song effort from the tight Toledo, Ohio, based group. Issued by Small Stone Records in 2003, The Last Men on Earth is the fifth studio recording from the stoner FHJ machine. Leading off with "Cry Rain", the longest song from The Last Men on Earth, Eric Oblander, Brad Coffin, Steve Smith, Phil Durr and Eric Miller immediately let one 'n' all know where they are comin' from, as the boys roll behind a heavy lean on the high times '70s. "Soul Digger" features fuzzy axe work and mean harmonica fills, while "Three at a Time" is a hard charged stoner track. The likes of "Cherry Red", "Love 2 Lose" and "Sweetwater" pack a cool, low slung ZZ Top groove. Grab a bottle of Jack and get loaded while Five Horse Johnson lay down the soundtrack for a late night of boozin'. The get-on-down "Sweetwater" was recorded with the express intention of gettin' wasted.
