For David DeFeis, the creative mastermind of the American power metal band Virgin Steele, life is actually too short to realize all his ideas, visions and wishes. "I'm always one step ahead of the current project," he admits and is already thinking about future plans, while he is finishing the recordings of his latest album The Black Light Bacchanalia in the studio. DeFeis has led the group's fortunes since 1981 and has created classics such as Noble Savage (1985) and Invictus (1998), a multi-talented, visionary and unusually imaginative musician. The Black Light Bacchanalia, a work that is without doubt one of the strongest and most extraordinary in the band's history, sounds correspondingly multi-layered.
