The Dog And The Future = Digipack = (CD)
Armand (26, synths & drum machines) and Clara (25, vocals & drum machines) met at an art school near Paris. He swears by the techno of the famous Warp label, she sang with the garage rockers Cannery Terror.
After first DIY shows, the hip label Cracki Records came across Agar Agar. in 2016, the debut EP "Cardan" was released, on which Clara lived out her role as high priestess of Goth for the first time: a kind of rebirth of Siouxsie in the guise of Donna Summer. Tracks that sound like a discoid shamanic trip, hazy and ultra-slow, a call to obsession and devotion. Two years on, her concerts are sold out months in advance.
Now comes her highly anticipated debut album, "The Dog And The Future," again featuring Agar Agar's trademark Clara's devoted voice soaring over immaculate, hazy slow-disco instrumentals. It's a melancholic, nostalgic and at the same time poppy-futuristic album, thematically revolving around virtual reality, simulations of life, dogs and love, and brimming with winks towards pop culture, labyrinthine puzzles and opium-laced vibes.
