OUST LOUBA is a young band from Southern France that is inspired by various musical styles. First influenced by ska, jungle or dub hard-core, these four musicians (And one girl too !) were able to evolve through world-music, experimental (And deconstructed) musics, post-rock... Released on the Gazul label, the debut album "Décoction" (2007) presents nine tracks for a duration of about three quarters of an hour. Some programmings and nice scratches were used, sometimes evoking PORTISHEAD's trip-hop. Also the old Canterbury School, for the atmospheres and a few vocal parts whispered at times, reminding of Robert WYATT. But this music is mainly instrumental and in spite of the variety of styles and influences, proves to be totally original and personal.
