Simply put, I think Black Oak Arkansas' cover version of Gun's Race With The Devil is my favorite cover version of any song I've ever heard. It's simply amazing. I've never heard another song quite like it. It's sound is indescribably unique. Jim Dandy Mangrum delivers the vocal performance of his career. The Guitar track is magmatic, like flowing streams of Lava from Pele's heart. And the backing vocals sound like nothing other than a band of screeching demons set loose from the deepest recesses of the infernal pits of Hades itself. Holy Shit. What a song. The track Rainbow is also pretty fantastic. A unfairly maligned album, I think.
